Joan is a Domestic Violence Survivor who is now Thriving, and through her personal experiences, she has developed a guaranteed 5 step strategy for “Finding a Way Out,” with proven successes of going from Broken to Brave, Victim to Victor and Survivor to Thriver. She provides tips, tools, and strategies through Coaching, Speaking, Training, Workshops, and Seminars that empower Women to become their best self, live their best life and Thrive Victoriously.
A former Vice President with Macy’s, Joan held several positions within the Macy’s Organization, where her career began as a Sales Associate and progressed through the ranks to Vice President. She had regional responsibilities for several Districts to include Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Baltimore, Louisiana, Puerto Rico and the Carolinas. She Trained, Coached and Developed Executives for growth positions within the Macy’s Organization, and under her leadership, several Entry Level Managers went on to become Senior Managers, Directors, and Vice Presidents. During her tenure, Joan received several awards and accolades for Outstanding performances. Her experience in this Corporate environment gave her the foundation that she needed to start her own Company, and she now dedicates herself full-time to Speaking, Coaching, and Consulting.
Joan is the #1 Best Selling Author of “90 Days to a Victorious You”, a Devotional Journal, and “Bags in The Attic, From Broken to Brave.” Her books were seen on Fox News, CNN, NBC, CW, and ABC. Joan has appeared in several press releases, magazines, and has done numerous radio interviews nationally, about her Courage in the face of Domestic Abuse.
Joan has a passion for giving back. She partners with Safe Alliance, a nonprofit organization for Women and Children of Domestic Violence, as a Speaker and Advocate. Her volunteer assistance includes Second Harvest Foodbank, the Salvation Army, Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Initiatives, and the Go Red Campaign for Heart Disease. She is a Lifetime Donor of St Jude’s’ Children Research Hospital.
She was born in Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to the US in 1989. She is the mother of 3 beautiful daughters and a son. She has three grandchildren. She currently resides in Concord NC with her husband, Bill Randall.
